History
Curriculum Overview
At New Road Primary School, we believe that a high-quality history education should provide opportunities for pupils to gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. It engages, inspires and challenges pupils, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and understanding to analyse, appraise and critically evaluate historical events, people and periods.
Pupils make progress in history by developing:
- their knowledge about the past
- their knowledge about how historians investigate the past, and how they construct historical claims, arguments and accounts
